The Government of Zambia National Remote Sensing Centre, under the Ministry of Technology and Science, coordinates all space and geospatial affairs of the country. The NRSC collaborates with the Ministry of Defense in security issues that require geospatial technology.

The State plans to launch a space program which is currently supported by ground station infrastructure. Zambia currently cooperates with Angola on satellite data sharing.

Zambia is party to the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and the International Telecommunication Union Constitution and Convention.

The State is a member State to the International Telecommunication Union, the African Space Agency and is a subscribing State to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation.

As a member State to the African Union, Zambia adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
