Viet Nam's space activities are implemented by both civilian and military government agencies and departments. The Viet Nam National Space Center implements space policy and strategies and serves as the State's research center for space. Additional government agencies and departments relevant for space include the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Academy of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Defense.
Contemporary documents include the Strategy for the Development and Application of Space Science and Technology until 2030; National Remote Exploration Development Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2040; and the 2019 Viet Nam National Defence White Paper. A key State position also includes Viet Nam's pledge of no first placement of weapons in space.
