The United Arab Emirate's space activities are guided by the National Space Policy and the National Space Strategy 2030. Relevant legal documents include the Federal Law on the Regulation of the Space Sector, and regulations on registration of space objects, authorization of space activities and space debris mitigation guidelines. Matters concerning space security are under the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence.

The UAE Space Agency was established in 2014, and the Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Centre is responsible for developing the UAE National Space Programme. The UAE is also a member of the Arab Space Cooperation Group.
