South Sudan engages in international and regional frameworks relevant to space and telecommunications through its membership in the International Telecommunication Union and the African Space Agency. National institutions, including the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services and the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs, support activities related to communications, airspace management and emerging space interests, while recent initiatives in space science education, international cooperation and orbital resource management reflect growing interest in space-related capabilities. As a member State to the African Union, South Sudan adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
