Serbia is party to the Outer Space Treaty, the Rescue Agreement, the Liability Convention, the Registration Convention, and the International Telecommunication Union.

The country's space and security activities are supported by the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Astronomical Observatory, while national security and defence strategies, relevant legislation, and emerging initiatives such as plans to develop a CubeSat reflect a growing interest in space capabilities and their relevance to national security.
