Senegal established the Senegalese Agency for Space Studies (ASES) in 2023, which coordinates the country’s national space programme and promotes space as a tool for development and security.

Senegal is party to the Liability Convention, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, the Partial Test Ban Treaty, and the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention.

As a member State to the African Union, Senegal adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
