São Tomé and Príncipe engages in international space security and governance frameworks through multilateral treaties and organisational memberships.

The country ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention.

São Tomé and Príncipe is a Member State to the African Space Agency, the International Telecommunication Union and the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation.

The country has a framework agreement with India for international cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space. As a member State to the African Union, São Tomé and Príncipe adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
