San Marino participates in international space security governance through various engagements. The State ratified the Outer Space Treaty, the Rescue Agreement, the Partial Test Ban Treaty, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and the International Telecommunication Union Constitution and Convention.

San Marino is a subscribing State to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation, and is a Member State to the International Telecommunication Union.
