Rwanda's current space programme is civilian led and focused. Rwanda's space activities are regulated and coordinated by the Rwanda Space Agency (RSA). Established in 2020, the RSA seeks to develop Rwanda's space sector and use space for socio-economic development. Ongoing projects of the RSA include a Geospatial Data Hub and a teleport station equipped with multiple ground stations. The Rwanda Space Agency Brochure provides an overview of RSA's mission, vision and activities, while Law N 002/2021 sets our RSA's mission and responsibilities.
According to national statements delivered to the UNCOPUOS Scientific and Technical Subcommittee, numerous key documents are under development, including Rwanda's National Space Law, strategic plans for the Rwanda Space Ecosystem, as well as a National Space Policy and Strategic Plan.
