Pakistan's national space activities are overseen by the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), Pakistan's National Space Agency. Militarily, Pakistan's Air Force (PAF) is responsible for space security related activities. The PAF leads the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, promoting joint work between industry, academia and the government. Additionally, Pakistan's National Command Authority oversees nuclear-and-space related research, development, systems and applications. 

Pakistan is party to all five United Nations treaties on outer space. A key contemporary position is Pakistan's pledge of no first placement of weapons in outer space, and a key contemporary document is Pakistan's inaugural National Space Policy
