The Sultanate of Oman established their National Space Program in 2020 and their Space Policy and Executive Program in 2023. The country possesses a National Center for Space, AI, and Advanced Technologies as well, which was also established in 2020. Regionally, the Sultanate of Oman is a member of the Arab Space Cooperation Group.

Oman is party to the Outer Space Treaty, Liability Convention, and Registration Convention as well as a member to the International Telecommunications Union.
