The Secretaría Nacional Para Asuntos Del Espacio Ultraterrestre, La Luna y Otros Cuerpos Celestes is the body responsible for space-related activities in Nicaragua, including the formulation, proposal, and implementation of general policy guidelines on matters relating to outer space. The body was established by Law No. 1064 and its Secretariat is attached to the Office of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua, and is under the authority of the Nicaraguan Armed Forces. Nicaragua ratified the Outer Space Treaty, the Rescue Agreement, the Liability Convention and the Registration Convention. The state also ratified the Partial Test Ban Treaty, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, and is party to the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention. Nicaragua is a member State to the International Telecommunication Union, Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, Latin American and Caribbean Space Agency, and a subscribing State to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation.
