Space activities in Myanmar are coordinated by the Myanmar Space Agency, established in 2025. The first satellite of the country, Lawkanat-1 was launched in 2021 and was developed through bilateral cooperation with Japan's Hokkaido University.
Myanmar is party to the Outer Space Treaty, the Partial Test Ban Treaty, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban treaty and the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention. Myanmar is a Member State to the International Telecommunication Union, and a participant in the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum.
