Mali is party to the Outer Space Treaty, the Liability Convention, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention. Mali is a member State to the International Telecommunication Union, African Space Agency, and a subscribing State to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation. 

A key position on space security is Mali's political commitment not to be the first to place weapons in outer space.

As a member State to the African Union, Mali adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
