The Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI), established in 2012, is responsible for national space science and technology and is jointly housed under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation. In 2024 GSSTI published Ghana Space Policy, which established a framework to leverage the country's strategic geographic location to attract international partnerships and investments. Ghana is a member to the African Space Agency, and as a member State to the African Union, Ghana adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
