The Dominican Republic does not have a national space programme but has been engaged in international space cooperation through both multilateral treaties and membership in key organizations. Since 2022, the Dominican Republic has been a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Space Agency (ALCE). It ratified the Outer Space Treaty in 1968 and has signed other key instruments such as the Rescue Agreement, the Liability Convention, and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in 2007. Additionally, the country is a member of the International Telecommunication Union and a subscriber State to the Hague Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation.
