The Cypriot national space program is responsible for research, innovation, and international engagement of outer space. The country established a space law and national space strategy and these endeavors are carried out by the Cyprus Space Exploration Organization (CSEO). Cyprus remains engaged regionally through membership in the European Union Agency for Space Program and as a Cooperating State in the European Space Agency. Cyprus additionally ratified the Outer Space Treaty, Rescue Agreement, Liability Convention, Registration Convention, Partial Test Ban Treaty, and Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
As a member State to the European Union, Cyprus adheres to the established space framework by the European Union including key positions including but not limited to the Space Strategy for Europe and the European Union Space Strategy for Security and Defence, and the political commitment not to conduct destructive, direct-ascent anti-satellite (ASAT) missile testing.
