Colombia’s space program is coordinated by the Colombian Space Commission (CCE), an intersectoral body responsible for advising, planning, and implementing national space policy. Created by Presidential Decree 2442 of July 18, 2006, the CCE aims to promote the peaceful use of outer space, develop space technologies, foster research and innovation, support the growth of the national aerospace industry, and encourage both national and international cooperation in space-related activities.
The CCE operates with the support of a Technical Committee on Space Affairs (CTAE) and an Executive Secretariat. The Commission seeks to integrate space capabilities into Colombia’s broader socio-economic and scientific development goals, and positions space as a strategic sector for national progress and international engagement.
