Burkina Faso is a party to the Outer Space Treaty, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and the International Telecommunication Constitution and Convention. Burkina Faso is also a Member State to Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and a subscribing State to the Hague Code of Conduct Against Ballistic Missile Proliferation.

As a Member State to the African Union, Burkina Faso adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
