Angola's space program is organized primarily under the National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN), which is supervised by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS). Angola’s space governance also includes the Interministerial Commission for the General Coordination of the National Space Program, established by Presidential Order No. 101/13, which oversees strategic coordination and monitors major initiatives such as the ANGOSAT project.
The GGPEN and this Commission operate within a framework defined by a series of presidential and executive decrees, which aim to build national capacity in the peaceful use of outer space, promote international cooperation, and ensure the transfer of space-related technology and expertise.
The Spatial Strategy of the Republic of Angola 2016–2025 outlines the main goals and guidelines for national space activities.
As a member State to the African Union, Angola adheres to the established space framework by the African Union including key positions like the African Space Policy and African Space Strategy.
