The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is an intergovernmental organization established on 8 August 1967 with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration, also known as the Bangkok Declaration. With a Secretariat based in Jakarta, Indonesia, ASEAN aims to promote economic and security cooperation and integration. ASEAN’s space activities are overseen by the Sub-Committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA). ASEAN also delivers statements at various UN bodies and processes, such as the First Committee.
